What is LBWVB?
Ladyboy Water Volleyball is a non-profit fundraising group of unpaid volunteers
with the following mission:
Provide an entertaining and unique fund-raiser for charity
Portray ladyboys in a positive and respectful manner
Promote the participating venues and sponsors
Provide a fun day out for all
The Ladyboy Water Volleyball competition is a special and unique event that is held annually in Pattaya, Thailand. People from around the globe attend the event as spectators who donate through the purchase of event / raffle tickets, or by sponsoring a team. One can also show their support by donating items for raffle prizes, equipment, administration, or logistics.
LBWVB verifies each benefitting charity. We follow up afterward with personal visits, often bringing along participating team members, so that everyone can see what the donated funds were used for. Not many Fundraisers do that.
History of LBWVB Charity Event
LWVB was conceived in 2008 when various venues arranged a Ladyboy Beach Volleyball contest. It was repeated in 2009, raising 65,000 Baht, for the Pattaya Orphanage.
Beach Volleyball had its limitations and logistical problems, so the event was not held in 2010 nor 2011.
But in 2012 the idea resurfaced but with a more aggressive target and a new format. Staging the event in a hotel provided a swimming pool which led to the natural outcome of Ladyboy Water Volleyball. The event then expanded to include an evening Gala Buffet and Auction.
The
2012 target of 150,000 Baht actually raised 283,000 Baht.
In 2013, with greater support, the target was set at 500,000 baht with the final amount being raised that year being an incredible 1,100,000 Baht!
Media coverage has continued to grow locally and internationally and for that we are thankful for the assistance from Pattaya Mail, our photographers and TV.
LBWVB is now accepted as a unique day with a carnival-like atmosphere that provides a
good day of fun for the attendees while also raising
money for the following charities:
The Pattaya Orphanage
Water4Life Project (Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard)
The Life Home Project Phuket
Camillian Home Latkrabang
HEARTT2000
Bamboo School
Baan Gerda
Baan Dek Tammarak
Moon School
