The 6th Ladyboy Water Volleyball Festival was held on Saturday 11th November at Areca Lodge Hotel, Soi Diana in Pattaya.
Now established as one of Pattaya’s premier social, sporting and charitable events.
The Lady Boy community again presented themselves as a positive contribution to society by entertaining an international audience, while having fun.
3 Teams had supporting cheerleaders with Choreographed dance routines – Green Hornets, sponsored by Katoeys R Us, won the best squad award.
The Five enthusiastic teams from Pattaya and Bangkok raised 600,000 Baht for three Charities
The Pattaya Orphanage, founded in 1980’s with 160 Children
The Glory Hut foundation, a hostel for people with HIV
The Pakse Medical Centre, Laos
This, the 6th year, saw the total funds raised go over 5 Million.
Gross raised was 5,055,725 with 4,115,000 Baht given to Charity.
Costs of 861,839 is 17% of funds raised leaving a surplus towards 2018 of 78,886 Baht.
Teams Played 10 matches in ’round-robin’ style which means there is no actual final.
Winners decided by matches won/point difference.
This year the deciding match was actually the last match making it a real final.
The Final was Golden Eagles from Why Not bar in Bangkok, making their 1st appearance, and the Pink Panthers who are an independent team who have played since 2015.
This final match was hotly contested and vocally supported by their cheerleaders.
Final results were:
1st – Pink Panthers, an independent team from Pattaya.
2nd – Golden Eagles sponsored by Why Not, Soi 20, Sukhummvit, Bangkok.
3rd – Green Hornets sponsored by Katoeys Are Us, Soi Diamond, Walking Street, Pattaya.
4th – White Sharks sponsored by New Bar, Soi MIT, Pattaya.
5th – Black Scorpions sponsored by Lita Bar of Pattaya, Soi 13/2, Pattaya.
Bangkok’s Stumble Inn group again sponsored the event.
In the evening it was decided to move indoors due to risk of rain.
There was an International buffet. Raffle prizes of Dining vouchers from Beefeater Steak House, Sportsman Pub, Grottino (Italian), Yamato Japanese restaurants.
The Pattaya Orphanage children again entertained attendees with classical Thai dance and their rendition of “Food Glorious Food” from the musical Oliver.
Checks were awarded to the charities and Prizes to all the participants.
The matches were played from 1 to 5 pm.
The evening program was from 7 to 10.00 pm.
Tickets, at 1,500 Baht, exceeded all costs ensuring 100% Sponsor money, Donations etc went to Charity as the event is designed to do.

A refuge for people in Pattaya suffering from HIV. Having been evicted from their original residence, due to opposition from neighbours, they have been granted a new residence and need our help with new beds and linen.
The Health Care/Medical Center of Wat Hor Pha Keo, Nr. Pakse, Lao, provides health, accident, pre and post natal care for several hundred families in the area. This center has NO TOILETS, is lacking equipment and is in serious need of structural repair. With the help of funds raised by the LBWVB, toilets will be constructed as well as other repairs.

Our Local orphanage who were the original inspiration for the event back to 2008. The orphanage has focus on quality education and is proud to have many orphans go onto University and, in some case, Master’s degrees.
